Have you seen all the buzz around Hawk Tuah girl? People are going crazy over the video! Hailey Welch, better known as Hawk Tuah girl, was featured in Rolling Stone and called a “national hero” and that she is becoming “America’s sweetheart”… Now imagine if a women of color would have done this. Do you think she would be receiving the same attention? Hell nah. Society doesn’t like Women of color are sexual. And when we are, they call us sluts.

And let’s face facts. We all suck d*ck. Like come on now. A TikTok user by the name of @Objk04 commented that he prefers his girl to sound like Pac Man.. Look whether you prefer Hawk Tuah, Pac Man, or whatever it may be. Let’s talk about sucking d*ck. 👀

But let’s back track a little. There are many stigmas within black and brown communities where a woman performing oral sex is taboo. Those women are viewed as ‘dirty’ and ‘hoes’. I remember as I got older I was scared to give a guy head because I didn’t want to be viewed a certain way. In high school, when people found that some girls were giving blow jobs everyone started to judge them and call them sluts. And I was afraid of that. I also didn’t want to feel ashamed of myself for performing oral sex.

But girl let me tell you… All of that has went out the window. Call me a slut, hoe, dirty knees whatever your heart desires. I love giving my man head. It provides him pleasure but it also makes me feel empowered.

I came across this article on Refinery 29 written by Maggie Zhou and she interviewed thirteen different women whose ages ranged from 18-35. They all had mixed opinions about giving blow jobs. Some women, like myself, said it made them feel empowered and sexy. While others mentioned that they don’t like to give head. Especially when a man cums in their mouth. And honestly, that’s what pleasure is all about. Discovering what is and what is not for you and learning how to communicate those likes and dislikes with your sexual partner(s).

Not all men are going to like when you deep throat them, suck on their balls, or they might not even ejaculate from them receiving head. Shit YOU might not even like to suck d*ck. And that’s okay! That’s perfectly normal. Porn has given us so many unrealistic versions of sex and we tend to get caught up with what we think sex should look and feel like. Giving and receiving amazing head takes great communication skills from both parties and also knowing what turns you on.

Take some time this month to figure out some of your desires, likes, and dislikes. Is giving head something you want to actually do? Or do you feel obligated to do it?
