Pleasure is Political

Hey Chicas! 💋
Todo bien? I have a couple of updates for you. First thing’s first, The P Files will now be a MONTHLY newsletter. Meaning you will only get one newsletter per month. Between looking for a new job, posting on socials, and my personal life it’s been too much. And you know I’m all about quality over quantity. I’ll still be doing The Spotlight Series, but it’s going be sporadic.
On today’s newsletter you can expect:
Post Election Debrief 🫥
Sex Toy of The Month 🍑🍆
Political Pu**y 🗳😼

Let’s Get Into It…
Exhausted… Angry… Hurt… Three words that describe how I'm feeling post election. The 47th President of the United States of America will be Donald Trump… HOW TF?! Seriously. HOW IN TF!? To my Latinos, especially to my Latino men, I’m disappointed… and disgusted honestly.

If you know me or if you have ever been around me you have probably heard me talk about sexual pleasure, sexual health, sextech, and femtech but I have a career in politics. I was fortunate enough to work on several electoral campaigns at the state and local level across the United States. I’ve been asked “Lorena, why do you talk about sexual pleasure all the time?” Because pleasure is political and pleasure is power…
Sextech, reproductive justice, menstrual rights, sexual wellness, and politics are ALL intertwined. You can’t talk about sexual pleasure or menstruation without talking about the policies that affect them. For example, in 2008 Texas law implemented that a person cannot own no more than six sex toys. That includes vibrators, dildos, anal beads, and the list goes on.
As a Latina (Chicana), a daughter of immigrants, first generation woman who grew up in a low income community - society and my culture has placed shame and guilt around sexual pleasure. When women seek pleasure, we are called sluts and selfish. According to the article, Politics in the Realm of Women’s Sexuality by Dr. Aniruddah Babar, he goes on to describe that women are less likely to experience an orgasm compared to men because of the disparities among “sexual education, communication, and cultural attitudes towards female pleasure.”
I truly believe that during this 2024 general election we got to witness how society hates women. Especially women in power. There are various types of ways to receive pleasure: sexual, food, hanging with friends, dressing up, leading a team and the list goes on. My point is that society does not want to see women, especially black and brown women, gain pleasure. Because with pleasure comes power.
Con Amor,
Lorena

Meet my new BFF! 🤩 This clitoral vibrator from Govkis is ranked #19 on Amazon’s Best Sellers list for clitoral vibrators. I’m not going to lie I’ve been using this vibrator religiously! It’s sooooo good! The only downside I would say is that the battery life is not the best and once the battery life is down the vibrations become less intense. If you want to experience that mind blowing orgasm then I would recommend having this vibrator fully charged before every use.
